Bad News for Facebook Developers

What it is like to working at Facebook? Facebook has often regarded as one of the best places to work in tech industry. For starters, employees enjoy free gourmet breakfast, lunch and dinner. When Facebook hosts a birthday party for itself, emplyees are the ones that receive gifts. Besides, there are flexible working hours and great pay.

The only drawback is, being one of the employees in Fackbook, you may forced to use cheap, low-end phones. The method behind this madness is that, a crappy old phone with weak networking will help the company study the computing conditions in parts of the world where people have limited internet or none at all.

According to Javier Olivan, in order to "feel the pain", developers have to try to use Facebook's apps on super-old versions of Adnroid. That way, the social media giant can get a better insight on how to bring internet access to everyone in the world, which is also the aim of Zuckerberg's initiative on Internet.org.

Long long ago, there was a kindhearted noble, whose wife died of illness and leaving him and three daughters.

He tried lots of inventions, but failed, therefore he worn out his money. So they had to move to a farmhouse and his daughters had to cooking, sewing and cleaning by themselves.

A few years later, as the girl are going to marry, the father became depressed for he did not have money to purchase dowry to the girls. One night, after the daughters were washing clothes they hung stockings at the fireplace for drying. Saint Nicholas knew the circumstances of their father. He came in front of their house in the evening and saw everyone had fallen asleep from the window, also noticed the daughters' stockings. Then he took out three small bags full of gold from his pocket and dropped them on the girls’ stockings from the chimney.

In next day morning, the daughters awoke then they found their stockings filled with gold! It was enough for them to get married. Therefore, the nobleman was grateful to see his daughters to married. Henceforth he lived a long and happy life.

Later, the children all around the world had inherited the tradition of hanging stockings. And they think Father Christmas will put Christmas gift in their stockings. In some countries children have similar customs. For example in France, the children will put shoes by the fireplace.

Reviews on the First Android Phone of Each Major Manufacture

Quite a few years ago, the word Android was just a concept. But after the birth of the T-Mobile G1, the world's first Android smartphone, roughly 20,000 distinct Android devices was produced and this number continues to grow. It seems a little unfair to forget the very first Android fledglings. Even deleted data from Android internal memory can be recovered, why not dig out the old memory of Android pioneers of all major brands and take a look now!

Samsung Galaxy 17500

Back in 2009, the 1750 was one of Samsung's first Android handset. It featured a 3.2-inch AMOLED display, Wi-Fi connectivity, and a few of the Google apps that we probably take for granted today. It also boasted integrated GPS, and expansion slot. Despite it's flaws (mediocre call quality, inconvenient hard ware buttons), the Samsung Galaxy 17500 was surely some pretty high-end hardware at the time.

Huawei U8220/T-Mobile Pulse

As the world's third largest smart phone maker right now, Huawei became one of the first China-based manufacturers to jump on the Android bandwagon. Its first Android device Huawei U8220, also known as the T-Mobile Pulse, run on the Android 1.5 Cupcake operating system. The Huawei U8220's screen is 3.5 inches with 320 x 480 pixels resolution, It had packed in an ARMv6 528MHz processor, working in concert 192MB of RAM. You could take photos with phone's onboard 3+ megapixel camera. Up front, there is also a secondary camera useful for video chat and self shooting.

LG EVE / LG GW620

The LG GW620, also known as the LG Eve and the LG InTouch Max, was officially released on September 14, 2009 by LG Electronics. It became the first smartphone from LG that runs the Android operating system. Initially, the 3-inch device was contained Android 1.5 Cupcake, but after this, LG decided to upgrade this device to Android 2.2 Froyo. Like most Android handsets at the time, this LG pioneer features a great QWERTY keyboard. Out of the box, the GW620 was preloaded with a suite of Google services including Gmail, Google Maps, Google Calendar, plus the Android Market for downloading apps.

Motorola CLIQ / Motorola DEXT

The Motorola CLIQ was the first Motorola ever to using Google Android system, and was launched by early October 2009 in the UK. Unlike Motorola's products of the last several years, the CLIQ has Wi-Fi ability, a 5-megapixel camera and video recording, a standard 3.5 mm headphone jack, an HTML browser, and a QWERTY keyboard. With all that, the Motorola CLIQ had all the necessary bells and whistles to step hard on the heels of its Android rivals at the time.

Sony Ericsson Xperia X10

Here comes Sony with its first Android phone, Sony Ericsson Xpeira X10. It is rather high-end, equipped with a 1GHz Snapdagon processor, 4-inch TFT screen with a resolution of 480 x854 pixels and an 8.1-megapixel camera with autofocus. However, its software features are just as impressing. What it adds to the Android universe is a personalized interface, called UX (from User eXperience). Basically, UX combines various entertainment and social media features.

That's it for Android smartphone pioneers. Leave us comment below if any thought on today's subject occurs to you.

Fun Facts about Android you May not Know

The very First Android phone was HTC G1. It was released in the US in September 2008. Then it was better known as T Mobile G1/HTC Dream. Up until now, Android has become the most used mobile OS on the planet. Everyone among us either has used an Android phone or has at least known one of their friends who are using it, but most people don't know plenty of interesting things about Android. Here we are with some of the fun facts that you may have not heard yet.

1 Android is not Google's Baby

Most people have a notion that Android is made by Google but is not true. Though Android stays to be an integral part of Google, it was actually started by a company named Android Inc. in California which was established in October 2003. Google bought it in 2005 and led to Android's tremendous success.

2 Android's Mouth Watering Name

A really interesting fact about Android is that it has a number of updates and each major update is naming after dessert items (or, generically, sweet/sugary foods). These delicious names are chosen alphabetically. The latest version (as of this writing) – Android 5.0 Lollipop, how sweet!

3 What Android Means?

The second you hear the word "Android", you think of a mobile operating system and think that it was initially named for this system. Well it is actually originated a few hundred years ago from a phrase "humanoid robot". The world "Android" also appeared on many Movies during the 80's.

4 Android's Logo

The cute Android logo was designed in 2007 by Irina Blok who no longer works at Google. She took inspiration from the pictograms of the man and woman that usually appear on restroom doors. Most importantly, anyone can use and modify the green robot to their heart's will, just like anyone can enter and use Android Recovery Mode to customize their apps. This has added a sense of fluidity to the brand that nobody can match.

5 So Far the Most Popular Smartphone

All right, maybe not most popular, but defiantly is most used. Around 70% plus smarphone users in the world use Android phones. Windows phone and iOS have tried many tactics. But no rivals have hit this market. The interesting part is, only about 27% of Android users being female.

6 Not Just Smartphone

Although most of the Android devices are smartphones and tablets, the OS also runs on wearable devices and consumer electronics now – including smartwatches, TVs, digital cameras and others.

Big Showdown: Google Nexus 6 vs Apple iPhone 6 Plus

Not so long ago, we have posted a blog A Comparison between Android 5.0 and iOS 8.1. Up until now, Google has unveiled its 5.96-inch Nexus 6 and poise as a fierce competitor to other smartphones in the market. We couldn't help but wondering how does the Nexus 6 fare against Apple's largest iPhone ever—iPhone 6 Plus? Let's break down the spec and take a look.

Design & Build

The design of Nexus 6 is very similar with the recently launched Moto X, only bigger. Much more appealing than previous years, I would way. But we might more admire the Apple's sleeker, thinner and more "designed" looking on the new device.
Nexus 6 is a lot fatter than then iPhone 6 (10mm versus 6.8mm), with gently curving back rather than Apple's thin-as-paper design. It comes with an aluminum frame but a plastic back. On the other hand, the iPhone 6 Plus has a completely metallic back case and many would agree that it makes for a more premium look.

Screen & Display Quality

Most of us think that the iPhone 6 Plus's 5.5inch screen makes too large a device, but Google has taken the Nexus even further with a 5.96inch screen. You may want to hold these two smartphones in hand before purchasing and see which screen size you're most comfortable using.
When it comes to display quality, Nexus 6's 1440 x 2460 AMOLED display is obviously a details advantage over the iPhone 6's 750 x 1334 IPS LCD panel. AMOLED technology offers more vibrant colors and deeper blacks. But to be fairness, it tends to produce over-saturated pictures with inaccurate color profiles.

Hardware & Performance

While the iPhone 6 Plus features only a 1.4 GHZ dual-core A8 processor, the Nexus 6 pack with 2.7 GHZ quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor. On paper, you may say that the latter is rather powerful than the former. Over all, performance turns out great on both handsets.
As to the hardware that powers each device, Apple seems to do a lot with 1GB of RAM. The Nexus 6, meanwhile, features 3GB which given Android's tendency to use more memory than iOS.

Software

The software between the Nexus 6 and iPhone 6 Plus is a lot different. Android 5.0 Lollipop operating system has a lot of new features and so does iOS 8. It's not a matter of which one is the best. It all comes down to personal preference. For instance, if you've used iOS device for a long time, purchasing another iOS device means you are saved from much trouble in transferring old data into your new phone.

Camera

In terms of taking photos or videos, Apple's cameras always perform very well—an 8Mp camera and optical image stabilization. iPhone 6 Plus doesn't offer 4K video recording, though, offering 1080p recording instead.
The Nexus 6 smartphone also have front-facing cameras and low light performance thanks to its f/2.0 aperture. But it has quite a task on its hands to match the iPhone 6 Plus camera.

Battery Life

For battery using, it looks like Apple has the edge. Battery life provides 10 hours of video viewing for the Nexus 6 and up to 14 hours for the iPhone 6. But Google's Nexus 6 also comes with a Motorola's special Turbo Charger which will provide up to 6 additional hours of battery life from a single 15 minute charging session.

Early Verdict

We can't offer a very much in-depth analysis, but it is still compelling to see all these clear differences in this particular phone battle. Generally speaking, the iPhone 6 Plus offers longer battery life, a more advanced camera and more storage. The Nexus 6, however, more flexible on its gadgets. Perfect for those who want to customize their phone to the Nth degree.
If you have already picked a side between Apple and Android, do let us know in the comment below.

Android 5.0 Lollipop Features List

Google names its Android versions alphabetically after sweets. As a sequel to Android KitKat, Android Lollipop — technically Android version 5.0—is considered as one of the most significant updates in recent Android's history.

For starters, Android 5.0 Lollipop brings a significant design change that's as fashionable as iOS 8. In addition, there are improvements to things like notifications, battery life, security and much more. LG just announced that its LG G3 will be updated to Android 5.0 starting this coming week. Other devices include Samsung, Motorola, HTC and Sony should be along shortly after. The world is having Android fever. In this blog, all the changes in the latest Android will round up for you. Let's dig in!

Material Design

The most obvious change in Lollipop is Android's new interface look, called Material. It is inspired by nature, physics, and the bold, graphic look of print-based design and changes nearly every single thing about how Android looks, from the setup menu to animations and icons.

Notifications

Google finally adds notifications to the lock screen in its latest Android. You can decide whether you get notifications on the lock screen or not on an app by app basis and respond to them directly through your lockscreen. That way, you can just keep doing what you're doing when you don't want to answer the call. No more interruptions from notifications.

Additionally, the enhanced notifications system now shows the ones with top-priority and you will not see the unimportant ones unless you slide down.

Project Volta Battery Efficiency Optimization

Google offers plenty of battery saver features in the final Lollipop build, including a new tool to allow developers to more easily figure out how and why an app is affecting battery life. And that is Project Volta. It is already improving battery life in Android L.

Another battery new feature is Battery Saver Mode, which will automatically shut down the CPU, limits vibrations, dim the screen light when your battery drops too low.

New Recent Apps Menu

The new name of "recent apps" is Overview. It shows your recent activity in your open apps. Apart from a different style and design, the new recent app interface now is imitating the existing separate, clickable tab of Chrome. What's more, developers now are allowed to the access of API and improve the functionality of apps.

Security

Aside from all the perks for Android users listed above, it also has security benefits — new Lollipop devices finally implementing a new Android Smart Lock feature to secure your phone. No more worrying about personal messages being viewed.

Data Separation and Protection

Google announced the newest Android will bring more security to business users, allowing for data separation between business and personal life. Through this managed profile, some of the concerns with BYOD should be alleviated.

Search Improvement

Finding things are now even easier with improved Google Search. Search results will be saved across different apps and devices. You'll be able to jump right into a given app and start right where you left off.

Much More

The Android Lollipop also contains new APLs support, Bluetooth 4.1, USB audio and burst photo mode. There are still a lot more new features in the newest flavor of Android, but the core features are all still there, and as the fanboys (also fangirls) say, they're better than ever. Be careful though, if you don't konw how to recover data from your Android phone. Find someone to help you when trying to install Lollipop and good luck to you all.

Android 5.0 vs iOS 8.1: Feature and Execution Comparison

Both Google and Apple has updated and renovated their OS this year. The battle between Android and iOS is officially on since Android 5.0 is making its debut with Nexus 6 and iOS 8.1 is already released on the market. These two most popular mobile platforms are undoubtedly two most fierce competitors. If you are in the market of a new smartphone, you may find out that a choice between them is not an easy one. How about reading through this articles — a comparison between iOS 8.1 and Android 5.0, and see if we can help you. (Screenshots on the left are from Android 5.0, the others are iOS 8.1)

Lock & Home Screens

We can see from the above pictures that the lock screens of iOS 8.1 and Android 5.0 shares a lot of similarities. They both put time display and pending notifications in the middle with shortcuts in the bottom. As in android, it has a shortcut to the phone but no more widgets on lock screen which would be considered as a good thing.

There are not many changes on the Android 5.0 home screen except for the user interface. It has been given the Material Design to be able to present a smooth animations and transition effects. The iOS 8 home screen didn't surprise us much too — as simple and elegant as always. We can not say which one is the best. It is up to personal preferences.

Widgets & Customization

In order to courting the Android users who turn their back on Apple when designs of iOS devices turned stale, the iOS 8.1 incorporates widgets in its notification center — the widgets has long been an unique feature of Android.
All in all, we have to agree that Android 5.0 still owns a strong customization interface and Apple is taking its steps towards an open mind, no matter how slow it is.

Notification Panel

Android 5.0 comes with a big improvement in the notification panel. Important notifications now are given high priority and being showed on the top of the list. iOS adopts a different approach to notifications. It has bubbles appeared on the icons with numbers that stands for unread notifications. Either way, it is convenient to use. But Android 5.0 may have an advantage on incoming call notifications. Instead of occupying the entire screen, it displays a pop-up window so that it will not stop you when you are in the middle of playing games or anything else.

Dialer and phonebook

For quite a long time, troubles like restore data from an rooted Android phone keeps bother Android users because they want to get features that iPhone owners has. But now with Android's newly design of dial interface, iPhone users may consider doing the same thing. The awesome interface shows up contacts we're most likely want to call. Contacts include local businesses and nearby restaurants. In comparison, the iOS 8.1 owners will not have that much fun when searching their phone book and make a call.

Good news for iPhone users: after all these years, the latest iPhones are finally allowing 3rd party keyboards in the App Store.

Camera

Camera quality is a serious concern for most smartphone users, and it only gets more and more importance in our daily life. The Nexus 6 has a 13 MP camera with optical image stabilization and a 2MP front-facing camera. Although there are more functions to choose from, the camera of Android 5.0 still has a lot to learn from iPhone. The iPhone 6 comes with an 8 MP iSight camera and a low resolution front-facing camera which we usually used to taking selfie.

Conclusion

Android 5.0 comes with a more distinct feature of new design while iOS 8.1 hasn't change much in the visual effect but added services that are new and awesome. Sure it's way too early to pick a winner here, and in the principle of different strokes for different folks, I suspect you already pick your device.

What are your thoughts on the new iPhone and the upcoming Android 5.0?

For iPhone 6, Count Official Version Changes of iOS 8

Serious spoilers previously, has made the Apple conference suspense od 2014 is greatly reduced. Although the two new products iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus makes the iron powder excited, it is let people lost too many fresh for too much exposure before. But, as iPhone 6/Plus and the modified iOS version 8 compared to before, the test version still has a lot of bright spots to follow.

Prior to this, some people have to worry about more large screen iPhone will make the application manifest not completely. There will be from iPhone 4 to iPhone 5 as the black box years ago . However, this time apple is very clever. While iPhone 6 screen 1334x750 pixels and rate of iPhone 6 Plus screen for 1920x1080. The screen width height ratio was 16:9 of two of the new iPhone, and the generation of iPhone 5/5s is consistent. So there is no need to worry about the larger screen higher resolution rate bring the visual effect.

It is worth mentioning that, due to the increased screen resolution, especially to 1080p display level iPhone 6 Plus, the official version of iOS 8 will add the operation mode of a cross screen operation for the large screen iPhone. This point is similar to the iPad tablet.

In this new mode of operation, iPhone can be like a tablet that adds a sidebar on the left or right side of the screen. It is convenient for users to obtain two level menu. This is the conference we see about the official version of iOS 8's first big change.

The second change is that M8 motion sensing processor in coordination with the iPhone 6 new built-in. The officials cliam that is to build a new fitness applications. Application of Nike and related fitness will greatly upgrade and add the altimeter function. In simple terms, M8 new processor not only can help the user to record the step number and distance, but also can more accurately calculate the relative height. This is after the beta version of iOS 8 we did not relate to something.

Furthermore, it is about third party input method of the topic, that the function of a point of concern for people. Since the opening of the third party input method permissions on WWDC2014 news has been published, so many domestic input method team had already begun to prepare for a wildly beating gongs and drums. So far, according to this understanding, several well-known brand input method open business has made an application to the App Store. As for when we can formally to download the update iOS 8 that day, whether it can be installed in a timely manner, that is about to see Apple rhythm.

Of course, we are temporarily unable to see the third party input method jailbreak state in many Beta version of iOS 8. So just have to put the function point included in it. Next, I want to talk about is about iOS 8 VoLTE networks to support voice function.

Literally, VoLTE (Voice over LTE) HD codec technology can get rid of 2G/3G net, all service carrying on the LTE network, can realize the unified data and voice service on the same network.

In addition, iPhone 6 can shoot more photos and video of bovine X benefited from the new iSight camera. According to official data representation, iPhone 6 can take 30 or 60 frame, slow motion of 240fps 1080p video. At the same time, continuous auto focus technology photograph will make iPhone 6 enhances the performance. All this is in the old section of iPhone iOS 8 beta that we are unable to realize.

Next we will say is that the new iMessage, although WWDC2014 and test version of iOS 8 we can already feel the convenience of evolution after iMessage. In fact, in the official version of iOS 8, the lower right corner of the SMS interface added shortcut keyboard. In this way, the user can be easy to complete the text, voice, picture and even location sharing.

The New iMessage Concern
Here, maybe you didn't find the official version of iOS 8. In fact, for the new payment Apple Pay makes iOS 8 more perfect. In the conference site, the relevant responsible person mention that the contemporary people brush bank card pay behavior is weak, and Apple will subvert the traditional and backward mode of payment.

The New Concept of Apple Pay Mobile Payment
The so-called "Apple Pay", is NFC (near field communications) and Touch ID (fingerprint identification) combination. It is simple to pay the operating process , the user with a touch function with the NFC iPhone about the scanning collection platform of businesses, in confirmation of payment according to the time of a fingerprint to get. Unfortunately, this service was limited to parts American.

Maybe Cook in the previous WWDC2014 conferences on too many details of iOS 8, so that the conference just spent a few minutes to skips iOS 8. But the good news is that, the official version of iOS 8 will be on the listing of the new machine before the September 17th to download. That is to say, in less than 1 weeks, we can put the official version of iOS 8 of income in the capsule.

The Official Version of iOS 8 will Open  Download on this Month on 17th
But I need to remind you is that people previously upgraded the test version of iOS 8s for formal version of the iOS 8 update to OTA way, can only be carried out through the official download the latest firmware upgrade by iTunes way, also hope people a lot of attention.
